Amitabha in Tibetan Buddhism

Amitabha thought is a part of Mahayana Buddhism and it is also called the Pure Land thought. Sakyamuni Buddha in the 6th century BC, in India taught many sutras about Amitabha including the Lager Sukhavativyuha sutra. This Amitabha thought was originated in India and spread to east Asia countries. One route is from India to Tibet and then Mongolia. Amitabha thought is popular in Tibet but not established as a separate sect. Many Tibetan spiritual masters like Tsongkha pa wrote the Amitabha thought books. Also, Tsongha pa wrote prayers to Amitabha and the Land of Bliss (Sukhavati). They are called bDe smon (A Prayer Book on Rebirth in the Land of Bliss). Tibetan common people recite and practice bDe smon every days. This book contains work of seven spiritual masters from three different traditions of Tibetan Buddhism. Gelug sect, Tsongkha pa (1357-1419), first Panchen Lama (1567- 1662), 1st Lcan skya (1642-1714), Nyingma sect, Petrul Rinpoche (1808-1887), Mi pham (1846-1912), 3rd Dodubchen Rinpoche(1865-1926), Sa skya sect, Sa skya Pandita(1182-1251).
