Oyasumi (good night) is an herbal shiso tea combined with brown rice and dried shiitake. This non-caffeinated blend is full of savory umami that will ease you right into dreamland.
We love how the grassy, mintiness of shiso mingles with the earthiness of the toasted genmai (brown rice). The dried shiitake adds an element of umami that comes through in the flavor and aroma.
A little goes a long way – just one teaspoon steeped for one minute will give you one restful cup of herbal shiso tea.
Oyasumi is one of two Japanese tea blends we created in collaboration with Far Leaves Tea in Berkeley. The other blend, Ohayo (good morning) is a medium-caffeine hojicha tea.
