Jam Honey Condiment Pot with Lid
This lovely line of vintage, Crown Staffordshire fine bone china is called Hunting Scene. Marked : “Beloved pattern of horse lovers it depicts the chase in vivid colours.” It was an extensive line with this being the mustard or condiment jar. This is in very good preloved condition - no chips, cracks, repairs, with only a small mark on the house as pictured.
Crown Staffordshire established in 1889 (inaccurately shown as 1801 on the mark) in England. Was known for its dinnerware & fine floral & bird figurines. They became part of the Wedgwood Group in 1973 & the name Crown Staffordshire stopped being used in 1985. Hunting Scene pieces from then on are marked Coalport. The term Fine Bone China started appearing on marks in the 20th C. The mark on this set dates it to after the 1930’s; I believe this was from the 1970’s
